I don’t like bad news or the news in general. I also pick and choose with documentaries. Perhaps you could be a little more proactive and find about what the documentary is about BEFORE you watch it. If your TV has an info button, Use that to get an idea of the content before you start watching. If you get to a point where you realize it’s going to upset you, Switch channels or do something else for a while
