After my first heart attack — and first open-heart surgery — I was told that I might have diabetes and I was to test my glucose several times daily. It was sometimes high, low, or normal.
Six years later I started developing neuropathy in my feet.
I’m offering this as a cautionary tale; you don’t want to get where I am now.
Chips and Cokes are not a diet. I’m too far gone to be salvaged but I try to eat well, still.
