Around here, hospitalization is for people who are in danger of suicide or of harming others. Although I have never heard of anyone actually being hospitalized because they are a danger to others. Dissociating would not be enough to convince my health insurance to pay up. And honestly, unless you can find a place that specifically treats only trauma issues, being in the hospital may just make things worse.

I have heard good things about residential treatment; that would be my first choice. I used to dissociate a lot more than 5 times a day. After years of therapy, it's gotten a lot better.

Have you talked to your T about going residential?
