So, I’ve been recently diagnosed with PTSD, along with Bipolar Disorder and OCD. I’ve been having a strange issue lately with the PTSD. I originally was assigned that diagnosis because of a traumatic brain injury but I also had a messup in a medical procedure which temporarily stopped my breathing.

I often wake up, gasping for air and it’s sometimes brought on by nightmares. Now, there’s an ice cream truck that drives around my neighborhood lately and the ice cream truck tune is causing flashbacks. I start having trouble breathing and I’m brought back to my TBI injury 3 years ago. I’ve been immediately putting headphones when I first hear the truck coming.

My question: do any of you have triggers with sounds (maybe an ice cream truck) ? It really bothers me and I need some help

Thank you!
