Yeah I know this is kind of weird, but I thought I would ask and see if anyone else deals with these things. When it comes to patterns, it annoys me to no end when something doesn't have a pattern, it creates alot of anxiety for me and I get kind of nervous. LIke the rug at my therapists office, the pattern is not right, it's more random than anything, the colors that is, but then other places like at the hospital where I have groups now. when I see a wooden door it drives me bizerk because it kind of has a pattern when you glance at it but then if you investigate it more, nope, no pattern, it is annoying to me and I usually have to make it so I am not facing the wood door. the of course there's those little colored push pins that are usually randomly placed, oh those have to have some kind of pattern as well.
Oh numbers, that's even worse, I am a numbers person. I use to be a math major and so it is something that runs through my blood. I am obsessed with finding a solution with a group of numbers like phone numbers for example. Like mine is perfect. there are 3 different ways to look at it. If you look at it withouth the area code, the first number on the left. You take that number subtract the next number and get the next number. Then take the number at the other end of the phone number, the last number and start with it. take that number and subtract the next number then the next number as well and you get 0 it is all completely balanced. It is something that I was obsessed with when I first got the number. But then I do that with alot of things. Like I was taking the different days and different numbers involved with me beiung assaulted and I was trying to find a mathematical reason for being assaulted, I spent days on it, I came up with something, but have sincec forgot. then the right triangles and angles. If there are 2 papers it has to be parallel to the other. If there are 3 papers they have to combine together at an angle to make a right triangle. Four has to make a square or rectangle, depending on the size of the paper. all of this is really annoying. I also forgot to mention with me the hand smelling. I know it's kinda weird, I smell my hands all of the time. It's a compulsion. I try not to, but even if I touch something I know will smell bad, I sitll have to smell my hands. Weird. Well anyway, I just felt like sharing my issue
