For me it happened when I tried to return to work after my divorce. The state had a separate job counselor for people with learning disabilities and she discovered my ld was actually PTSD which she had dx by a state p doc. Later on a p doc in private practice also dx me with chronic or complex ptsd, but that’s for another board. At any rate it took me a decade to get back on my feet as I was also raising a kid on my own.
