I get that really cold chill thing like just before passing out...& yes, the heart rate does soar. I hate to throw up...actually afraid to.....after this experience.
It was just about 2 years after my daughter was born & just before the long presidents day weekend in Feb. She had been throwing up, but we all thought it was teething...seemed that was what always happened when a new tooth was about to come through.
We planned a long weekend down in San Diego to visit the zoo & wild animal park. Since we thought it was just teething sick, we went ahead with the weekend. She was ok on the drive there (several hours), but just as we arrived in the motel, I got sick.....so sick. Later that night, I looked in the mirror & horror. The whites of my eyes were completely blood red. I looked at my fact & it had little pin points of red completely covering my face. The scarry part was that I was continuing to get sick, so the red just kept getting worse.
The powerful illness burst the blood vessels in my eyes & face. I was so sick that we couldn't drive home, & I couldn't get out of the hotel room. I couldn't even keep water down, let alone the 7-up/soda crackers that everyone says will help settle your stomach. That was 2 days of horror. Then it finally let up enough so we could drive home & on the way home, my husband got it & was sick all the way home.
What a way to spend a vacation weekend....in a motel, so you can't even leave the room. That was the most expensive stomach flu I have ever had.
Since that time, everytime I get sick, the blood vessels break just like that time....so having the stomach flu is much worse for me than just throwing up. Besides, it's embarasing to try & explain what happened to me & "how does the other guy look????"
