I have an interview tomorrow (Fri.) for a finance directors job. It's only with the recruiter, but i still have to get through it to be passed onto the comapny.
I have a bigger interview on Mon. for a product manager's job with a publishing company. It would be somewhat of a step back careerwise, and wouldn't pay as much, but would let me stay in publishing and could lead to all sorts of interesting things down the road. The only thing is it's to manage their tax product line and I have no tax knowledge. But they could see that from my resume and they still want to interview me.
The good news is I've just finshed 4 hours of coaching with a communications consultant on interviewing techniques, and she gave me tons of good tips on how to appear less wooden in the interview and how to shape my answers better. And a new networking group that I've joined has already let me make contact with someone who used to work for the company who's wiling to talk to me about corporate culture, before I go into the interview.
Wishes of luck for both interviews would be appreciated.
