If I didn't have family or friends, I don't think I'd take meds either. I miss the wildly creative, tempestuous, passionate woman I used to be, but she didn't play well with others so the meds became part of everyday life. It's better this way, for me as well as everyone else, but oh, sometimes I wish with all my might to have my old personality back.
