I had a horrible headache during, Dizzy spells, I could tell my tone in voice changed at one point, I even looked at her and said this isn't me talking. I had to pull over on the way home and throw up. I don't want to be around anyone, touched by my grandchildren, wife, anyone.

This can't be real
yes it can be a bit stressful being diagnosed. one thing that helped me was my treatment providers explained to me that nothing is going to happen after being diagnosed that wasnt already happening before the diagnosis, other than getting better because now the therapies can be all on fixing the problems and learning how to not dissociate, learning what causes the dissociation (most people call this locating the triggers and fixing it so that the triggers dont bother them any more)

the next thing that helped me was my psychiatrist/ psychologist/ therapist sat down with me and explained exactly which tests they used to diagnose me and where I was on each of the different scales / charts/ differentials/ you name it, there are literally hundreds of tests now that you cant find online that they use for diagnosing DID. they can even tell you what your stress test score is. not talking about the kind of stress test medical doctors do, psych tests come with a stress test scoring too.

for example did they tell you what your F score or your V score was or your phq and others? if not my suggestion is call and schedule your followup appointment where you can get answers to things like this. I know with me it really helped calm things down when someone took the time to explain each of the tests and what my scores were, it took more than one appointment but i was still glad they took that time with me.
