Yes, find something you are interested in would be a good way to go, and join a group on your interest. I am also schitzophrenic and have a husban and a son. my husband is Very very understading of my illness we are married about 23 years now. I didn't have alot of self esteem when i met him but he loved me anyway. If it wasn't for him too, i would never have gotten a house, and all the things that go with it. we are not rich by any means, but hoping to live well into our 60s or 70s together and this gives me hope for the future. I recently joined a senior citizens group and met some great people and i enjoy it very much.good luck
