AC2: I didn't respond precisely because I couldn't think of anything to say that wouldn't strike some as exactly what you've stated here - despite my not wanting to come off that way. For instance, this strikes me as a cause for real concern:

I refrained from saying anything but have been second guessing that decision ever since I made it. Would I warn a friend? Is it more supportive to share my concerns or to ignore them?

I read this as... Well, you're in the construction trade right? Can you imagine someone telling you that they're right about how to go about dry walling this project because they've been dry walling for three and a half weeks - not just a couple of days? Those who have spent time in the construction trade for any length of time at all know that three and a half weeks as a dry waller does not make you a master dry waller no matter how good you are - or think you are. I think that many who read this were as taken aback at that...I just didn't have the words to explain it diplomatically enough....still don't apparently, but I am trying.

I was also trying to figure out how to ask if it is common elsewhere to see a psychologist for therapy sessions. That threw me off too. I'm not trying to be insensitive or unsupportive, but sometimes I need clarification in order to do so.
