They said that the episodes were triggered by ceasing their meds. They believed that because they had been well for 16yrs and then 12yrs that they were cured. So they took themselves of all meds.
They said that they had finally “got it” - that remission was only possible when you kept at it with your meds.
The people that got of the meds because they felt better is a red flag in my opinion.

It's very common here in my country AU. Some doctors have different methods for administering and ceasing medication but most of it is based on what the patient is describing.

My thoughts are if something is working and feel normal. Why risk going through it all again with another pill OR completely free off meds.

Keeping in mind that not everyone has the same desirable outcome, but if they do continue a normal life, that's not only amazing, it's inspirational.
