also many places now require a person to pay check or money order or credit/debit card, handing over cash is rarely used now for things like this. its well known that people who try stealing identities dont want a paper trail. by requiring money order, debit/ credit card or check there is a paper trail to follow. at the very least there will be a store and money order routing number to help locate the person trying to perpetrate identity theft.

my point here in america theres a process now to prevent the wrong people from getting other peoples personal information like birth certificates, ID's and so on. part of that is cash is rarely used now.
