I don’t know how it works in your state, but when my mom was in a for a suicide attempt, I told her to sign herself in so she could sign herself out. I know that people don’t necessarily have the state of mind to do that, but if it is a possibility, it is good to ask about if this ever comes up again and then get her to do it.

In our state it depends on which hospital the person is in. The particular one K is in is in a small town.
