My half of the closet, I'll have sweaters with sweaters, t-shirts with t-shirts, dresses with dresses, slacks with slacks. Not color-coded, but separated by type. What matters is being able to find what I want quickly, without having to search for it.

My husband's half of the closet, as long as it's on a hanger instead of on the floor, he doesn't care. Button shirts, t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, he's got everything all jumbled in together. I don't know how he can just go get what he needs when it's like that, but he can, so that's for him to worry about.

On my side of the dresser, socks are matched, but not lined up in rows according to color, or anything like that. I'm learning not to care if the underwear isn't folded and stacked into neat piles, as long as it's all in the same drawer together. Hubby's the same way on his half of the dresser, but if he's the one doing the laundry, then he doesn't match his socks up. He just throws them all loose into his sock drawer.

Which is OK with me. At least he doesn't leave them piled up on the floor or the furniture.
