I don't know if this applies to what you're experiencing, but my counsellor has talked about how sometimes being unkind toward yourself / thinking badly of yourself can be a pattern that keeps you in that depressive loop. I find sometimes the best thing you can do is be gentle with yourself--and you're already taking a great step by paying attention to the fact that you're feeling frustrated!
