Hello SQLVR,

It is a fine line between c-PTSD and OSDID as dissociation is just as common in c-PTSD. I too have other personalities I constantly talk to in my head and I dissociate mostly in therapy. I do not believe I have any memory loss all though I can not remember things from session but I always feel that when triggered recall of memories are impaired.

T says I am OSDD and he keeps wanting other parts to come forward and have their time to talk. For me I just cant do that. I do not know how. I do not feel like they need to come forward and talk to him. I would actually have to be triggered into that part for it to speak otherwise I do not know what it even wants.

Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.
