I guess in mY defense, if you could even call it a defense, the job started at 6:30 a.m. I am a sometimes pretty severe insomniac. I didn’t sleep at all the night before worrying about what the day would be like, and I felt I needed to be able to catch up on sleep the next day. I get really run down and tired sometimes because of being unable to sleep at all or because I finally fall asleep about 3 in the morning oftentimes. When the alarm goes off about 6 that makes for a very short night. The next day I often have pounding headaches and feel foggy headed, barely able to function. To top that off many of my mental health problems really started about 6 years ago when I barely slept at all for three weeks. I then had a psychotic break and wound up in a psych ward for 4 days. When I don’t sleep for several nights I always start thinking about that, worrying that it could happen again.
