What we want and need is what we want and need; it isn't either good or bad! It's like some people are introverts and others extroverts; people who don't like to party aren't bad people just because other people do. We all have different wants and needs.

And comparing one's self with others can't possibly work because each of us only has themselves to work with. What is easy for me might be hard for you and vice versa; what's hard for me might be easy for you.

It's interesting to me watching my 4 year old granddaughter and 3 year old grandson. My grandson, when we babysit, has a horrible time waking from his nap; he cries and cries and if you try to comfort, he screams :-) No matter who it is, unless it is his mother, he ain't having none of it. My stepson says he sometimes sends in the granddaughter because he does better with her too; she'll just start playing and include him in and he'll forget it's the end of the world and start playing too.

We have different personalities and problems we face and they're not better or worse than anyone else's. My mother died when I was 3 and here's my grandson whose mother has never left him; he's never spent a night away from her. There's nothing bad about him, that's just him and what he was born with and needs. My daughter-in-law was laughing the other day because she says she feels she understands him well, he's very much like she was :-) That's all we need, people around us who are interested in us and help us be the best we can be.
