Exercise definitely can help me pull out of down swings, though sometimes it can make it worse if I stew about a problem while out for a long walk. It seems to depend on whether it is brain chemicals or situational depression, if that makes any sense. paddling seems to help with either, oddly enough. It's still new enough that I usually think of other places and better boards to paddle on brighter days in the future.
