I think you do need IP.

At a minimum you need to hand surplus meds over to a family member, friend, neighbour or pharmacy. My pharmacist only gives me 2 weeks worth at a time and this keeps me safe.

Please let your therapist and psychiatrist know that you are contemplating plans.
