Exactly, I did the same. I used to have political and serious sites in my feed. Deleted all. Now I follow sites with science memes, pets, black humour and shallow tabloids. Much better.
I thought I'm mature and "adult" so I subscribed to all the serious sites when I joined fb. However it was killing me, only increased anxiety and depression that I have anyway. So now I'm exactly the same as all the millenials, watching memes and videos of cats.
I couldn't save anyone or improve anything in the world by reading depressing articles and political arguments anyway. Watching funny memes does have a positive impact on my life. Maybe I'm not that special and more enlightened than others as I used to think in the past.
