I didn't get any hair falling out problems, but it started to work as soon as it got into "therapeutic range" as far as I can tell. I was outpatient, so was started slowly on it, but when I went to 1000mg the mania stopped dead cold; we've since lowered it a little cause I was getting some tremor issue and added propranololololololol.
