There's options for low-income people to get counseling. My mom currently works at such a place. It's a non-profit Christian ran organization, but you have the option of non-religious counseling and she has had many clients who opt out. If you can't pay, you don't. Her paycheck comes from donations and the few who can pay. If you can pay, you pay based on income. I asked her how someone could find something like where she works and she said to search Google for something like "pro bono counseling" for your area. She also said you can negotiate cost with many agencies.

As for what I personally advise as someone who has endured a lot of things other people have done to her and had a hard time coping... Just try to remember that it's on THEM, not you. Yes, now you have to worry about fixing it, but the first step is realizing you didn't deserve what they did and it's ok to be mad at them for it. Healing is a lot of being kind to yourself, which I know is very hard sometimes... I struggle with hating myself because so many other people hate me so I know it's easier said than done.
