Definite Red Flags. This situation does not sound safe.
It isn't out of the norm for men to be overprotective when starting a family. They might be a little moody, get worried if you come home late, might display some jealousy if they see you talking with a man they don't know. They will not be unreasonable, play mind games or make threats about your livelihood or your child's.
