What is the present nature of the relationship with this toxic person?
Do you have acquaintances where you are now?
Do you have a support network? this even includes people back home.
Have you looked for resources local to where you are now situated?
Do you have any opportunity to pursue some hobbies or activities?
Perhaps it is time to reach out and create them. Doing so here is a great start. Seek our some acquaintances though; this is important. Making that appointment to a doctor is a good thing too. They can be resourceful. And speaking of resources, find out what are available. I am assuming your community has some sort of mental health association. They should have some resources or knowledge of them that may help you. This includes supports and groups for mood disorders. The key thing here is to get the courage to go out.
So too, try to get out and undertake some activity.
What to do in the meantime. Mindfulness has helped both my depression and anxiety. As mentioned, getting out for even 10-15min has done me a lot of good.. I used to also do a lot of writing to an old friend. The act of just getting my thoughts down on paper was very therapeutic.
Good luck. We will all be thinking of you. You are not alone.
