Hi Beth: You know... basically, from my perspective at least, what you're talking about here is part of what mindfulness meditation is about. There is a mindfulness meditation social group here on PC. I don't have the impression it is particularly active. (With a couple of exceptions, most of the social groups don't seem to be.)

But if you have an interest, perhaps you can liven it up!

Mindfulness meditation isn't a "quick fix" so to speak. It takes diligent practice over a period of time to develop your ability to focus. But, to my knowledge, there is no fast track to improved focus.

In fact, trying to "force" yourself to focus is probably the best way ensure you won't learn to focus.

I presume there are probably app's you could get for your phone that help with mindfulness. But since I don't own a smart phone, I don't know anything about this. Others here on PC no doubt will.
