I have a friend who takes it and says it helps her. That being said, her "diagnosis" of ADHD came from bringing up it up to her psychiatrist during one session. So she was prescribed guanfacine. I'm not convinced that she actually has ADHD, and rather that her "hyperactivity" is due to anxiety and her other psychiatric diagnoses. So maybe it does help reduce those symptoms of anxiety and hyperactivity, whether they're due to ADHD or not. Guanfacine is a blood pressure medication, so it would make sense to me that it could help one "calm down" so to speak and be less restless. I don't see how it could really help with inattention though, unless one has trouble concentrating simply because they are restless and moving around a lot, but otherwise can maintain attention when not riled up. I don't imagine that it chemically improves the ability to focus like a stimulant would, but those are just my thoughts. I'm not any kind of medical professional, so take all that with a grain of salt
