We're only priviledged, as you say, according to us; people who lived 100-200 years ago didn't know anything else medical or electricity/indoor plumbing, etc. anymore than we feel less priviledged than those who will be around 100-200 years from now.
I did fine without a computer and the Internet in the 1970's in my 20's :-) and didn't feel deprived going outside to play every afternoon in the 1950s instead of watching television and playing video games.
Spending more time in church or church activities is not the same as worshipping and I don't think people involved in their lives in past times spent any more/less time worshipping God or were more/less deserving of God's love.
