This issue is all about how you package it. If you're unapologetic about the fact that you missed out on certain things while self-employed, nobody will bat an eyelid.
Maybe have a few phrases up your sleeve, like Wow. It's been really illuminating to see how isolated I was while freelancing. But I'm a fast learner. I'm catching up.'
That kind of thing.
It should ease your fear that they'll say you misrepresented yourself at interview. You didn't know!
Just explain it with confidence. You're already working on your development. They'll see that they chose the right person.

TY Purple.... this is helpful.
I think I can catch up easily enough today and during the week. Yes, I will have to be prepped for them possibly noticing.
Good news is, I don't believe I misrepresented myself during the interview, though it was over two months ago now that I interviewed. I am familiar with the tools they mentioned, I've used them all for certain things, and they didn't press me too much for specifics, or the extent of my use of these tools. I think they made some assumptions, simply based on my years of experience in the field.
