i had good results using a sound therapy called 'holosync' with meditation.
it really helps the brain to focus as long as you can produce the chemicals necessary for it to work... these things DO take time... i spent 7 years listening to a 'Therapeutic' version of holsync and meditating, between 1/2 hr a day and 2 hrs twice a day. note that you MUST use stereo earphones that go to 520hz (an auditory thing), so, good ones.
you can find holosync sound tracks here, on Utube, but be sure not to listen without those earphones~! here is a link to the therapy i used, it cost me about $50/mo, but i had to buy it in 6 month bundles.
here are some general ones, i don't recommend you start off with long sessions, because it does affect the brain, and can use up your 'smart' chemicals for a while after~
the Delta and Theta sounds are best for relaxation and meditation. they help the brain to make or enhance neural connections. this tech is also called Binaural Beats, because it puts a different beat in each ear, kind of like EMDR.
remember, one thing you have to develop, as well as focus, is PERSISTANCE~!
best wishes~
