That's a good idea, lizardlady! Also, I wonder if, instead of a formal written estimate, maybe they could give you a verbal ballpark? I guess that could be risky or unreliable? I often get verbals, but I live in a small town, and I know everyone's mom and dad, so they're not likely to mess with me. LOL Obviously I get a written estimate once negotiations get serious.

And I wonder if just walking around the perimeter of the house (rather than going inside) would be sufficient since you're getting estimates on the roof and windows.
