As for Lamictal side effects, I have found that there are very few. An advantage to Lamictal is that it does not usually cause weight gain - unlike most psych meds. I don't like that feeling at all, so I'm going to speak with my pdoc about it when I see her this week. Maybe I need to lower the dose I'm on.
Anyway, I don't think anything truly takes away bipolar anger (which to me is so different than normal anger) except a mood stabilizer.

Thank you! I agree it is so different than my usual anger. This consumes me almost. I think I have it related to mixed episodes, but not sure if also related to just hypomania, too. I am glad Lamictal worked well for you overall. I am still hoping it will for me, but almost wonder if it is making me feel worse at times.
