Taking a step back (if you'll forgive me), this is absolutely standard. I have had sessions like this myself, more than once, and you see it all the time on this forum. Ts probably have a name for it, like "Primary Attachment Crisis". On one occasion I cried for a week over Madame T. And to be brutally honest, I rather think this is the outcome that Ts are looking for.
But once you've cried enough, you don't have to cry again. This seems to be the Fundamental Theorem of Therapy.
