Hi golden_eve. In regards to your question:

I am trying to use the "fake it til you make it" routine, but does that even work?

For me, I've used, and still do use, the 'fake it til you make it' approach, in various situations but even after twenty years of doing so, I'm really no better off [twenty years!] -
but, my case and your case are probably two different things.
I'm pretty sure you'd be the kind of person to utilize and adopt multiple positive approaches through whatever internal struggles you might be facing, so, if none of those things are having the desired effect, I wonder if meds might be the next step? Bearing in mind the list of possible side effects any of these meds may present you with, on top of everything else, as well. Sorry if I sound a little pessimistic.
Anyway, good on you golden_eve, I hope everything settles down for you soon. Maybe you're still in the 'settling in' phase of your new job. Stress can really take it out of a person.
