all areas. journals are accepting all types of manuscripts. the only thing that they would us to do is that fall inside the scope of that journal which we would submit the manuscript to.
in fact ,I would do any scisntific study which is potentially related to math and / or linguistic. language science is not my area but just now I know three languages well.and would concentrate on chinese (the fourth one)

mm it is changing. but it seems how the educational status is increasing how the approaches are being bad! there is no sufficient parameters here to support this idea. these are my own. I have left my program (fundamental from medical science MSc (thesis based)) because of explanation of the health status. my professor unfortunately seems very very unmodern. he almost insulted to my in indirect way..
I don't mind such ones because I know that I have ability " self study" well.
anyway , I am looking for more modern professors in my life.

My answer would be that if this is something you can be open with amongst your peers then you should be able to be open about it with your academic ones too.
