I have also found that many psychiatrists let some bad side effects "slide". Though I have found for myself that some side effects were totally unacceptable, others I've endured and have sometimes been glad I did.

I agree that a 125 lb gain is way beyond acceptable in many ways. I'm happy you finally said enough and will hopefully be put on a medication mix that not only helps you, but allows you to lose the weight fairly quickly. Perhaps you may still need to diet, but dieting on a more weight friendly medication can be far easier than on one that is unfriendly.

It is interesting how some meds are very weight unfriendly for some people and not others. For example, Lithium was weight neutral for me while others say it made them gain weight. Depakote and Invega along with depression made me gain 30 lbs. Though regular Seroquel made me somewhat prone to weight gain, Seroquel XR is fairly weight neutral for me.
