I'm reminded of the way, when I hear that an acquaintance is going to marry someone they haven't known for very long. I always think, Oh no. It's not going to last!

And they don't.

The people who get engaged so quickly are demonstrating that they secretly know the relationship isn't right in some way.

They're trying to fight against that knowledge.
