Sometimes I think I get a little too paranoid about it. I have a range because it is supposed to be okay to use judgement and decide to go over sometimes and then adjust to lose back. I get freaky in the upper half of my range because spikes from water retention go over the top of the range. I know it isn't true weight gain and the top of the range is a safe distance below my scream weight, but I still freak out when the thought process seems too familiar.
