I understand what you mean, as least as how it applies to myself, when you say how does one move forward after getting shut down?

It's a very good question. Wish there were some books on that, or some general principles or guidelines. But, actually, as you said, just participating on PC -- trying things out and learning -- has been a big help to me, too.
