I am so sorry. Do they know anything about it yet? My mother-in-law passed away from something similar to mesothelioma. She was never a smoker and had masses all over her lungs. However, my father-in-law was a steel worker/welder; he came home covered in absestos a lot of the time, and she was the one cleaning his clothes. That's how we suspect she got it. But she had nearly a 10 year run with it, finally turning very bad the last 1.5 years.
I hope the mass will turn out to be nothing, but that is frightening.
