However, my pdoc just moved and retired so I had to get a new one. She said it was incredibly dangerous I was taking an antidepressant and tapered me off and then raised my mood stabilizer.

It has been about 4-5 weeks since then and I have almost completely reverted back to how I was before hospitalization. Suicidal thoughts, paranoia, and irritation.

I know that you are supposed to give new medication changes about 6-8 weeks to settle down but I am afraid that I will not make it that long.

Is anyone else on antidepressants? Should I try and find a new pdoc or is she correct about it being dangerous?
Antidepressants can cause mania. They almost sent me to happy acres after taking them for about three days. I have known many others this has happened to. Also, the literature has documented that this happens. Some pdocs prescribe them as long as the person is taking mood stabilizers
Thanks for this!
