I know what you mean. Sometimes the pain gets too much and all we can do is retreat. Nothing helps and trying to take a step forward causes more pain. It's like you're not ready to take part in life.
All I can do is just curl up and feel the pain and hope it lessens in time.
I am the sort of person who loves to pick herself up and this causes me guilt and frustration. I am learning self care and at those times maybe its okay to have time out.
