Ouch, that's a tough situation.
Can you try telling her that you'd like to see a therapist for, say, anxiety or depression? It doesn't sound as "severe" as hallucinations.
That's what I did, told them I was being treated for bipolar then later revealed that I was actually seeing and hearing things.
Also, if your hallucinations scare you, you can try to tell yourself that it's just your brain not working right now, so it's not as scary. Can you still carry on doing whatever you were doing when you hallucinate?
