From a man's point.......

Walking is great exersize. A period of stretching is good too.
In the warmer wheather biking is great.

Cutting all trans-fats from the diet would do a lot of good.
Also cut out as many carbs as possible, such as bread products. I lost 30 lbs over the past 2 years by using the above method. Smaller meals and lots of water work well too. Also, I don't drink anything with meals and at lease for an hour afterward. I also don't eat for an hour after drinking anything. I have been at my present weight for many months now, 210. I am 5'91/2" and very muscular. I would love to get under 200 but, I don't know if I can, also BMI is not a good way to find your ultimate weight. Body structure has a lot to do with it. At 210, I look about 175 or so. My doc says not to worry about the extra lbs because My cloths fit me right. I have a 36" waist 44 chest nice V shape from the waist up.
I support you in your determination to lose the excess weight. Get out there and start your exersize program today otherwise it will always be tomorrow.

Good luck,
