My illness goes beyond simple bipolar. Yes in my mid 20's I had a full blown mania episode with psychosis and I've been medicated since (now on Latuda, Depakote and Trazadone) but my problems started in childhood with severe meltdowns almost everyday, hyperactivity, labile mood, social skills problems, etc
. Back then I was diagnosed with ADHD, but one doc a few years ago said if she diagnosed a similar child now they would be given Childhood Bipolar/Asperger's (I think with the DSM-V it would possibly be DMDD/Autism level 1 now) Anyway the BP is no doubt, but the autism is not officially diagnosed. Anyway I had a traumatic childhood due to my symptoms, if I had the means should I seek closure, or chalk it all up to bp?
