Have you ever checked out the Anniversary Forum? There were various meetups all over for the big event. So many of us got to meet for the first time. Everyday people, volunteering and trying to keep running a place like PC.
I think something like that lifted the big veil of mystery.
It doesn't hurt to pm a moderator when in doubt of guidelines if the FAQ isn't clear.
