I think it makes sense. When I had my first psychotic break, I believe a lot of things fueled the fire to lead to a complete break. I was preoccupied with ghosts for a long time. Then I digged deeper doing "ghost hunts". The break happened after playing with the Ouija board. During the break, I wrote letters and the "demon" would respond through me by writing back. It got bad. Of course, it didn't help that I lived in a community where religion is big. I don't remember much from the break. I do remember the feeling of being so scared because it was legitimately a scary movie for me.
