Thanks. I have had low-grade fevers off and on all day. One minute, I’m pulling on my husband’s sweater that I have confiscated as my own, covering my legs, and the next minute trying to get out of everything making me hot and cool down. I had to take some Tylenol to get me through the morning because I forgot an ingredient grocery shopping that would take my husband eons to find at Super-Walmart.

My daughter starts school on Wednesday, August 15, kind of early even for here. My husband starts work again on Monday (he teaches high school physics), but he won’t get students until the following Monday. I am not sure exactly why my daughter’s district is starting the school year so soon.

I was a bit productive and managed to send off emails to my daughter’s two main teachers - math and science and language arts/social studies. We got the welcome postcard from her homeroom teacher, but her 2 teachers are easy to figure out from the school staff page. She is in the Spanish/English dual language program, and only 2 of the teachers listed have 5th grade dual language written under her name.

The pediatrician does think my daughter has some sort of sensory processing disorder but says she is too high functioning to get her on 504, which would be a battle because my husband has never thought she needed to be 504, that she is just “quirky”. I do think she needs occupational therapy with her noise issues, but as we cannot afford it, it really is not an issue at the moment. I might email the counselor to have a talk with her about my daughter and hear her suggestions.
